After You Went
This painting tries to capture the emptiness left behind when a young wife thinks of the "karwa chaut" she was supposed to keep for a husband who is no more. The rice sieve reminds of a celebration she may never participate in again. A small roll of paper is all that is left of a noble deed that claimed the soldier's life. His sister stares at his garlanded photograph wondering about the years lying ahead, when she would not be able to tie the Rakhi at her brother's wrist again.
